Program is a flea growth regulator. The compound is taken up by adult fleas in the bloodmeal and prevents the hatch of flea eggs. Program has no adulticidal activity.
Program prevents the flea from completing the life cycle in the environment. Treatment should be instituted approximately 1 month before the onset of the flea season and continued throughout the entire season. Dogs already infested with fleas should be treated with adulticides during the first 2 months of Program treatment as the effects of Program only become evident after the second treatment. It is essential that all dogs and cats (except unweaned puppies and kittens) living in a household are treated to control flea population.
