What makes PREY a limited ingredient dog food?

Taste of the Wild PREY Turkey Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs is built on just four key ingredients: cage-free turkey, lentils, dried tomato pomace and chicken fat. Cage-free turkey is the single animal protein, with salmon oil added as a source of DHA, plus vitamins, minerals and probiotics.

Is this a good choice for a dog with food sensitivities?

Taste of the Wild PREY Turkey Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs uses cage-free turkey as its single animal protein, which makes it easier to avoid proteins your dog reacts to. It does also contain chicken fat and salmon oil, so if your dog has a known chicken or fish allergy, check with your vet before switching.

Is this formula grain-free?

Yes. Taste of the Wild PREY Turkey Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs is a grain-free recipe, with lentils providing the carbohydrate and fibre instead. It is made in a facility that also produces foods with other ingredients such as grains, so trace amounts may be present.

Does it contain probiotics?

Yes. Taste of the Wild PREY Turkey Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs contains K9 Strain probiotics, five strains developed from those native to the dog's gut, guaranteed at 80 million CFU per pound. They are added after cooking so they stay alive, and help support digestion and immunity.

Which life stages is it suitable for?

Taste of the Wild PREY Turkey Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs meets the AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages, so it suits puppies (including large breed puppies), adult dogs and pregnant or nursing dogs. It provides 30% minimum crude protein and 15% minimum crude fat, with added taurine and L-carnitine. Follow the feeding guide on the pack for your dog's age and weight (free-choice feeding is recommended for pregnant or nursing dogs), and switch over gradually across about a week.
