To optimise the effectiveness of the unit:
The unit should be positioned so the microphone and speaker face the area where your dog barks. If placed above your dog’s head level, tilt it forward to direct the microphone and speaker toward your dog. When at the same level, position it facing the barking area, ideally in a corner facing outward for best coverage. The microphone detects loud noises within approximately 8 metres and emits an ultrasonic sound that is inaudible to humans but uncomfortable to dogs’ sensitive ears. After about a week, your dog should associate the sound with their barking and reduce it.
Success rating:
Effectiveness depends on your dog’s hearing. Some dogs may not respond due to hearing loss, training, or ear shape, while others may strongly dislike the tone.
